Graveyard by Mr.P

...time has past since the events of 2046, under the scorching sun on a sea of sand lies the remains of the king-class warship USS Carry.

"Rampart takes place in the Pacific in an abandoned bunker installation from WW2."

Spa notes in the comments that part of the goal with this map is to use "a lot of circular and organic shapes".  Also mentioned is the desire to make as many new materials as possible.

Here are some of the photos chosen as references for this project:

Swamp by Morozov and BubkeZ

Swamp is a cooperative effort between 2 well known members of the CS:GO mapping community.  The concept for it is that it's...well...a swamp.  Simple concept, but the devil is in the details, and this one is in good hands.  This is definitely one of the maps to watch.

Here's an early overview of the layout:

2-Swamp.jpg.b5ea9641df4ab9a39a0ace5086a356a6.jpg

The first screenshot of the map, which was meant to be a concept scene:

A screenshot of an area that's still under construction:

A modular system is being used for this project.  Here's an example of some of the early props:

In addition to information about this specific map, there's a lot of good discussion on other topics that you'll probably find valuable if you build levels for CS:GO.  Check out the Mapcore Thread to follow along: https://www.mapcore.org/topic/23532-swamp/

Gongji by Squidski, SethTooQuick, and JackT

This level is a cooperative level between the 3 mappers listed about.  It's meant to be "a Chinese night market and its immediate surrounding areas (obviously taking place during night)".  This team has been extremely responsive to feedback, which has resulted in a level layout that's drastically different than the original version.

Here's a visual walk through the history of the level:
