We'd love some suggestions for unique 'Reactions', these things in the bottom right corner of other people's posts:

We added the NLD one, which will need to be redone more properly at some point in the future, but we'd love to have more ways of reacting to posts.

Get yourself an HTTPS certificate so you don't have the annoying NOT SECURE thingy in the corner of your browser. It's free via Let's Encrypt and really easy to set up.

I tried getting it setup through Let’s Encrypt, and obviously failed, lol. I’ll have to revisit it again.

This is is the first I’ve heard of server errors, so thank you for sharing that.

Also, thank you very much for joining.  😀

Hmm... Do you know if there's a lot of variation in what qualifies as a 'Secure Connection' in different browsers?  I'm typically using Chrome, and this site shows as 'Not Secure', despite having an HTTPS certificate via Let's Encrypt.  When I load up the site on Firefox, it says it's secure.  I tested out Forgehub and it's the opposite (secured on Chrome, but not on Firefox).  I'm kind of unsure of how to proceed...

I haven't gotten any server errors @Insane54. Mind posting a screenshot of the error to help with troubleshooting?

Ah, I see. You did do the cert properly, actually. The problem is that you have unsecured passive elements on your page, so even if you are on https, you get "NOT SECURE" in the corner. That means that even though the site is on https, images or other elements that are referenced from the site are brought in via regular http. Probably just need to find those specific references and secure them (change http:// to https://)

Unfortunately I didn't screenshot it or check the console... if I manage to reproduce it again, I'll let you know. The post to the server occurred correctly (this must be true because the post was there when I refreshed), but either the response or the handling of the response was incorrect for some reason, so it never dynamically added the post. Assuming it just didn't work, I clicked again, resulting in the above.

Updated the NLD Reaction.  :classic_biggrin:

Any suggestions for negative reputation?  I suppose we could always go with the stander down arrow, or a mad face.  Would be nice to have something more unique though.  Any good ideas out there?

Why is the 'p' in Topic bigger than the rest of the letters!!1!

We need regular size P's, or RIOT! 😠

It's not just the P's.  The R's and B's seem to have an inferiority complex as well.  👀

In all seriousness, it's just the font that's being used.  I can change it if need be, but I've kind of always been a fan of asymmetry.  😛

When scrolling through the WAYWO I couldn't ignore the fact that every quoted message is fully displayed and therefore taking up a lot of space.

Due to the usually long and elaborate posts and discussions we are seeing, I think, making the quotes small but enlargable would be a better solution. That way, it also doesn't take as long to get through each page.

Maybe a rule set could be introduced? If the quoted text is longer than 5 (just an example; could be 10) lines of text, the quote box gets shortened. The enlargement feature would avoid confusion as to what a person specifially quoted (as they can always enlarge and see the exact quote).

EDIT: I was just looking through our gallery and wanted to comment on some stuff, but was not able to. Would that be possible to implement? Like a small chat box on the right side of the picture (after clicking on it), so people could shortly discuss a picture?

I have the ability to add messages within the gallery section.  I never tested to verify that members do also, but I setup the permissions so that anyone except guests should have the ability to comment on images.

I just tested and verified that it's not working (as you've pointed out).  I unfortunately don't know how to fix it at this moment.  Everything appears to be configured correctly, and a Google search was of no help.

I'll see if I can figure it out.

Regarding the quotes, I just found an app that does exactly what you've described - https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/8538-minimized-quote/

I'll get it incorporated into the site today.  😉

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Buddy.

@Buddy Jumps

Just to verify that it was working for me (as an Admin), I posted a comment on a gallery image:

image.png.27322bc77548a335dff7e2168a2adde1.png

The gear icon dropdown menu gives me the option to 'Add Message'.

I've tried every possible thing I can think of in the permissions, including disabling comments for everyone, and enabling them for everyone (including guests).  Nothing I've tried has fixed the issue.  I don't know what else to try at this point.  I did find another site that uses this forum software where comments on gallery images were working.  It may be an issue with the theme we're using here, though it wouldn't make sense for it to work as an Admin and not as a regular member.  Hmm...

I'll keep it as an unresolved item for now, and keep looking for possible solutions.  But since it's proven not to be an easy fix, and it's a relatively small impact overall, it's not going to be at the top of the priority list.  Hopefully I can find a resolution though.

I want a confusion reaction emote that emits the same vibe as this clip. Not quite the current "bruh" emote, more of like a primal "huh, I have no idea what to make of what I've just read lol"

I got a list, here's the order of my list that it's in

It goes Purely, Salty, SoulFlame then Multi

Slaphead The Square God, Gaza, Box, X and Icy

We have one. It's disabled because nobody used it, and multiple people said they didn't want it.
